John Tague Message to Employees — Strengthening our Fleet
Our progress around the fundamentals of our business — Focus on 5 — has led us to an important next step in our future. As you saw from Glenn’s announcement this morning, we are moving forward with orders for 50 new aircraft, 25 each of the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with options for 50 more of each aircraft in the future.

This is truly an exciting time for all of us at United. We have created momentum through our industry-leading reliability performance, and we are making progress in many areas of our operation, from improved safety to better condition, cleanliness and workability of our current fleet. As a result, we are enabling our employees to have a better interaction with our customers, creating a better experience for all.
New aircraft are a clear investment in our future as is the work we are doing in our Red Carpet Clubs, lobby areas and new employee uniforms.
